Ohio Statewide Assessments
Each Coshocton student in grades 3-12 participates in Ohio’s statewide testing program, Ohio AIR. State tests administered are as follows:
Grade 3 - English Language Arts (ELA) and Math
Grade 4 - English Language Arts (ELA) and Math
Grade 5 - English Language Arts (ELA), Math, and Science
Grade 6 - English Language Arts (ELA), and Math
Grade 7 - English Language Arts (ELA) and Math
Grade 8 - English Language Arts (ELA), Math, and Science
Reports with results from the 2018 spring testing will be mailed home in August.
The 2018-19 assessment windows for Ohio State Tests are as follows:
FALL TEST WINDOWS 2018
- Grade 3 English language arts – Five consecutive school days, including makeups, within the Oct. 22 to Nov. 2 window
- High school end-of-course tests – Fifteen consecutive school days, including makeups, within the Dec. 3 to Jan. 11 window
SPRING TEST WINDOWS 2019School districts select 15 consecutive school days, including makeups, within each test window.
- English language arts - March 25 to April 26, 2019
- Mathematics, science and social studies - April 1 to May 10, 2019
Diagnostic Testing and Screening
Coshocton City Schools administers other assessments as diagnostic tools for Reading and Mathematics: STAR Early Literacy, STAR Reading Enterprise, and STAR Math. Reading levels (or benchmarks) are monitored for designing appropriate instruction using the Benchmark Assessment System (grades K-6).
Kindergarten students are required to take the KRA, the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment, within the first two months of school.
All juniors are required to take the ACT on February 20, 2019.
Results of all testing is shared with parents. State testing results will be mailed home once results are received from the Ohio Department of Education. Diagnostic testing and screening results will be shared with parents at conferences. Parents may obtain performance reports by contacting their child's school and teacher.
